WorldSkills Australia is an organisation that conducts skill competitions in over 52 trade and skill areas around the country. Established in 1982, WorldSkills Australia is an independent, non-profit organisation that developed to promote the standards and status of vocational training and job skills. With a mission to "challenge young people, their teachers, trainers and employers to achieve world class standards in all industries and to promote the status of vocational education and training across Australia", their competitions provide the perfect forum for a Try-A-Trade event.

In 2003 a number of Worldskills regions conducted a Try-A-Trade event for the first time at their regional competitions including Darwin, New England, Ballarat, Melbourne and Illawarra.

Try-A-Trade events are now being run around the country at regional events and at the National competition. To see the event schedule and to find out more click here
