In 2008-2009 we have host programs from as far away as Broken Hill, or there are many choices within Sydney itself such as Penrith, Allambie Heights, Marrickville or Bankstown.

PROGRAM PROFILE: Programs will be profiled on a rotational basis to highlight the diversity of the programs available.

THIS WEEK'S PROFILED PROGRAM:
LINKS TO LEARNING - BYSA

Blacktown Youth Services deliver the program through a number of projects such as:
•multimedia projects, such as video production, photography, computer workshops, etc.
•self development workshops eg: assertiveness, team work, study skills etc.
•job seeking skills: resume preparation, job interview practice, application letter preparation, etc.

Partner with 3 schools. 40 Students per year. 2 Days a week (8:30-2:30pm) + additional sessions ie: First Aid Training, Self Defense, Drumming Workshops.

15-20 Students out of 40 students come from the IEC(Intensive English Centre) which have been in the country for quite minimum amount of time.

The biggest achievement is the music production where young people produce original songs, lyric writing, performing skills and a film clip. This is then screened at their graduation. (All the beat making, lyric writing, recording and performing etc done by the students)
