Project & Events

One of the key ways DSF achieves it's aims is to work in partnership with other organisations, initiating practical projects that respond to some of the issues identified through our research. Here you will find the projects that DSF is currently involved with. We have also included some past projects that we believe might still be of interest. Many of them have freely available resources.
Real Skills Real Work
DSF is partnering with Dare to Lead and the Ernabella Anangu School to develop a form of industry / employment in a remote indigenous community that offers local jobs that provides real pathways from school to work.

igreen is a secondary school program which assists households in becoming more sustainable and creates opportunities for the development of green skills in young people.

Indigenous Reports
Indigenouos Reports Keeping Up and How Young Indigenous People are Faring, two reports from DSF and Reconciliation Australia, draw attention to the facts, and the people who are working to improve the levels of education, training and employment of Indigenous people in this age group. It’s not just about measurement. It’s about what programs work, and how best they can be supported.

Captain Y Green Developing a residential sustainability project where young people are trained and subsequently employed to conduct home sustainability consultations in their local community.
The Green Team
The Green Team Logo WorldSkills Australia and Dusseldorp Skills Forum will again partner to deliver Green Team 2010 and liaise with Project Designers and Category Convenors to introduce real, relevant and financially viable sustainable initiatives to the WorldSkills Competition process while also calculating the ‘ecological footprint' of the WorldSkills Australia National Competition.
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Childhood Skill Training Network
Indigenous Early Childhood Network DSF is supporting the establishment of a National Network which will focus on the training and development needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early childhood workforce.
Learning Choices
Learning Choices Programs and people actively involved in engaging young people whose learning needs are not being met in a mainstream curriculum with diverse, innovative and sometimes unique learning opportunities.
