Project Background

Japan unfortunately has many natural disasters, such as earthquakes and storms. Once an earthquake or severe storm happens, all services such as electricity, water and gas stop immediately making people's life very difficult.

The 2007 MTC competition is set to be a test of dedication, teamwork and skill. The project for 2007, as created by experts from WorldSkills countries after taking into account Japan’s high occurrence of natural disaster, will require competitor teams to construct a wind generator, water pump and water filter.

This proposal is for an integral unit consisting of a wind generator, which would charge a battery. The battery would then be used to power a light and also a small water pump, which would pump water to a filtering system.
