How Young Indigenous People are Faring
How Young Indigenous People are FaringPrime Minister Rudd has made a promise to halve the education and work opportunity gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in ten years. The Forum, in partnership with Reconciliation Australia, has developed two reports as a contribution to this goal. They point to what the gaps are, but also what programs are already working to narrow these gaps. It's not about reinventing the wheel, but about knowing what works and supporting these programs.

How Young Indigneous People are Faring uses Census data from 1996, 2001 and 2006 to examine changes in the education and labour force participation of Indigenous youth (15- 29). It's about drawing a line in the sand. Knowing where we are helps us to move forward.
