Exploring community-based transport solutions for young people

The Transport for Young People project was undertaken by the Dusseldorp Skills Forum in 2002/2003.

The Dusseldorp Skills Forum (DSF) has a particular interest in young people and their transition from education into employment, and continually seeks to improve this journey.

Inability to access safe, appropriate, reliable and cost-effective transport has been regularly highlighted in projects across the country as a barrier for young people in accessing and employment opportunities.

This website provides a record of the first national workshop conducted for practitioners to share information about their attempts to tackle the issue at a local level. It gives information about what is happening out there, who is doing it and also provides those attempting to meet this need a network of practitioners to tap into. At the same time it attempts to flag to governments the difficulties being encountered by community groups attempting to provide safe, reliable and cost effective transport for their young people.
